Picking Up 2010

After a slow start, we’ve had a good week of sales since after the Holidays. My Pillow Place is working…and we need it to. I have an Architect Job Interview next week, so with any luck, I’ll be able to go back to work soon. And the business will be a combination of my wife doing her job with orders, customer service and accounting, and I will have to do my part in the evenings and on weekends…
I know that the economy is not recovering really. Its just a sham. But if I can personally go back to work, that will be awesome and we can start moving forward. I feel like we’ve had to put our life on hold for the past 6 months. I’d like to get it moving again.
My Bean Bag Place is starting to pull in a few visitors per day. Google is playing some weird games with this new site, but it usually does. It takes times for Google to stabalize. Google keeps listing pages and changing the cache to an older version of the page. You always want Google to have your most current page. At some point that will happen.
In the last 2 days, I’ve added 2 new products to My Bean Bag Place. Our Foam Studio Chair Futon, which has started selling on My Pillow Place, and the Sitsational Soft Chair…these are two of our newest products on My Pillow Place, so we added them to the new site too. I want to start seeing traffic increase by leaps and bounds on My Bean Bag Place. I’d like to start getting sales before I go back to work.
What’s Better than Folding Hide a Mats?

With the addition of our newest supplier, I’ve added our 2 newest products in the last few days…the Sitsational Soft Chair was added a few days ago and the Hide-a-Mat folding floor mat was added today. I’ve been trying to get these new products up before the holidays come, which seems to be quickly approaching. The economy’s up and down news is affecting how people spend money right now, and we have to get in position to earn some of that holiday gift giving money as we close out the year.
This is the time when most people spend some money even if they shouldn’t and it gives a boost to the economy. Last year at this time the bank crisis had just hit and we still did ok in terms of sales. The difference is that even though the crisis hit, many more people still had jobs. This year, many people, including myself, lost their jobs. And people with no money don’t spend.
I’m hoping beyond all hope, that for the sake of the country, things start to get better…can we have the mid-term elections this year? We need change!
