Life of an Online Business – My Pillow place

As we move towards what I anticipate will be the busiest time of the year for us, I’ve been taking some measures to increase traffic and sales on some of our bigger ticket items.  First thing I did was create a few new lenses in squidoo for stuff like our foam furniture.  And I used a lot of keywords that relate to furnishing your loft, apartment or dorm.  I figure, most people don’t know what foam furniture is, but if I come up with a solution for their furnishing problems, maybe they will find us and become our customer.  I’ve then put some of our items such as the foam bean bag, and gigantic floor pillow on sale to make a visitors decision a little easier.

I’ve also slightly tweaked our home page…I’ve moved our Trust-Guard Security seal onto the main page area and removed it from the side bar navigation….and I’ve added a small link to the top of the nav bar to let people know that foam furniture is on sale…and the foam furniture splash page tells people right away what is on sale…

We’re also looking into some new products to add that will increase our floor pillow, sales…November is starting to pick up steam.  I’ve started using a little more pay per click ads to help generate more targeted traffic.  Things are about to get interesting.
